About Ólöf

Ólöf was born in Iceland but has lived most of her life, on and off, in the USA. She learned to knit at a young age from her maternal grandmother in Iceland. In her late teens she lived in France for a couple of years but some force kept pulling her back to Tulsa.

Ólöf has been married for 13 years and is the mother of 4 wonderful young boys ages 8,6,3 and the youngest was born in Dec of last year and was a surprise addition to the family. She got her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in Dec. 2011 but has decided to focus on her family instead of working outside the home.

Now Ólöf tries her best to live a frugal, down to earth life in Tulsa, OK with her family, chickens, cats and bees. She also strives to hold on to a lot of the old traditions from Iceland and teach her boys the culture. This blog is to document that journey and hopefully help others do the same.

  1. Hi Olof, I hope this email finds you well. I’m sorry if you’re receiving this message from me a second time (I tried sending one through my yahoo email account last night but am not sure if it reached you so I thought I’d try this route as well!) I tried purchasing your lovely Collared Cable Cowl pattern that I saw on Ravelry last Friday and I received a confirmation from PayPal that my payment went through but I have not seen the pdf of the pattern come through my email inbox yet and I’m afraid it might have accidentally gotten kicked out by my SPAM folder settings 😦 I’m very excited to knit your beautiful pattern though and am hoping to have it ready in time to be a Christmas gift so I wanted to reach out to you again directly and see if you could please email it to me. Please let me know if you’d like to see proof of payment first (I can email you a screen capture of the receipt I received from PayPal) or if you need anything more from me at this time. And congratulations and happy belated 1st birthday to your newest addition to your family, the photos of him on your blog are adorable! (My son — our first — just turned 1 in October so I can well-imagine the joys your little one is bringing to you at this time :-)) Best, Olivia
