Itty Bitty Christmas Update.

Sorry for the late update. I don´t have anything itty bitty to update you on but I have my projects.

I donated the preemie hats and the doll to the children´s hospital. I managed 7 hats and that was it. I thought I would get some assistance but I didn´t. Made me a little sad but that is just how it is. I was sure that people could manage an hour to knit up a tinny hat and send it my way but I guess people were busy with their own lives. Sorry I´m not trying to give you a guilt trip. Just disappointed. There were over 40 babies in the NICU and only 7 got little hats.

I knit a pebbles vest for M in the last 2 days. He is going to wear it tomorrow for the Christmas Eve dinner at my brother´s house.

I worked on my Tea Leaves Cardigan and only have the sleeves and the button band left to go. I think I might even have some left over yarn. I might have to unravel and knit a little more length to it if I have enough left over yarn after I knit the sleeves. I don´t think it is quite long enough for me.

I´ve added to the odds and ends blanket.

Knit on 2 pairs of mittens because I really need some. They are both a fun knit. One pair I am knitting 2 at a time magic loop and the other on double pins.

Added two squares to O and M´s TV blanket. It´s the basket weave stitch. I really enjoyed it. It´s also fun to be able to try new stitches in making this for my boys.
I also designed a market bag that I need to tweak a little to make it work for me. This one I knit up with left over cheap cotton that I plan on dyeing over. It looks like an Easter egg right now.
I also have a surprise for my friend in France on the needles. It will be a late Christmas present.

On top of my knitting I started quilting this week. Yes I know, how do I do it all? It´s not magic it is just habit of getting things done and Flylady.net helps keep me on track with house work. But here are some of my photos of my work in progress.

Also in some of these photos you can see one of my Craigslist.com rescues. I bought this cabinet for $25 and it was not pretty but with a little white paint and some primer. I started by removing all the hard wear and then just painted it with primer and then some white spray paint. It´s not perfect but it works great for my sewing-machine and art supplies.

Oh I also painted our bathroom this month. Took me 3 weeks to finish but it got done.

We also have a new member of the family. She was a early Christmas present for my boys. They LOVE her. I even got her a little ball to exercise in. The trick is to keep the boys from kicking her or throwing her around while she is in it. I think she is a perfect way to teach my boys what it means to take care of something. O feeds her every morning and brings her water bottle over to the sink so that I can put fresh water in it. She is also warm and fuzzy and fun to pet.

Hoping you have a great holiday season and to you that celebrate Christmas, Marry Christmas! Hope you were able to finish what you were hoping to finish on your needles.

Had do end with a little itty bitty fun. The boys are playing IN the itty bitty toy box. It´s M´s fav place to sit and play.
Sorry for the long post. I guess I had a lot to share.

  1. Very strange about the baby hats. When my knitting club does baby hats, everyone seems to show up and want to contribute. It's the only project that people really like! Odd.

  2. Just wanted you to know that I knit baby hats but I had my own recepiant. I just wanted to say how cool it is to find a fellow flybaby. With flylady you really can do it all just 15 minutes at a time!

  4. Hi,
Just wanted to let you know I got the yarn, thanks so much. I think I am going to wait until I find out if I am going to have a little niece or nephew before I decide what to do with it 🙂
I've been wanting to knit that vest for a while, yours looks good!
