Tuesday Nutrition- Apple Sauce

Sorry this was suppose to be posted yesterday since it is a Tuesday thing but life and a toddler and a 4 month old got in the way of it happening on time.

In today´s nutrition corner I´m going to let all of you in on a wonderful secret. When baking you can substitute applesauce for oils.

So if you have that brownie mix in your cabinet but don´t want all the fat and want to add some nutrition to your mix. Use the same amount of applesauce as it asks for of oil and skip the oil. You can also add some wheat germ and fax seed if you want to make it even more nutritious. You can even shred some carrots for a boost of vitamin A.

  1. Fantastic tip. Thank you. I just heard another healthy tip. Take a boxed cake mix and add one regular size can of pumpkin. Not pumpkin pie mix, the pureed pumpkin. NOTHING ELSE. Bake according to the box. Suppose to be delicious.
