We Are Back Home!!!!

OK we are back! Me and the boys got back from Iceland yesterday. It was a 2 day trip with a night in New York. My parents were nice enough to come back with us so that I wouldn’t be traveling back alone with a 23 month old and a 3 and a half week old.
Iceland was great. I got to know some of my nieces and nephews again and my sisters. It was nice to be around my family again and leaving seamed a little hard but not hard at the same time if you know what I mean. I love being back in my own home but I’m going to miss my sisters and my family. At first it was a little hard to get use to living in a house with 8 people in it since my sister and her family were staying with my parents as well when i got there but by the end when Magni was born it was nice to have the extra set of hands and love around. I got so much help with both the youngest and the oldest. It’s sad to think about how much love my sons are missing out on by me living so far away for my large family. But here I am trying to make something of myself in grad school. I have a year left till I graduate and then I have 3000 hours of work to do under supervision and I will be done. We will see what I will do after that.
Magni traveled really well all the way over here and I think Odinn did quite well considering the fact that his world has been turned upside down on so many levels. He not only had to relocate with out his father to another country to be around a whole bunch of loud people he really didn’t know but then his father shows up 3 weeks later and then Magni is born and gets all of the attention. Then his father leaves again and he had a hard time with that. Then he had to travel back with this little monkey that everybody keeps telling him is his brother (what ever that means) and this “brother” is taking up all of his mommy’s time and attention. He was so happy to see his daddy at the air port and then get in to his car again and when we got home his toys! He has played so hard with those toys that he thought he would never see again.

When I got home my husband presented me with my X-mas present. Yes I know it’s a bit late but it was exactly what I wanted. It was itty bitty toys by Susan B. Anderson and as I was thumbing throught the book I thought “I want to make every one of these” and then I thought “I will make every one of these starting with the first project in the book and working myself though it.” So I’m going to work myself through it one project at a time and it will become a series. I started the stackable boxes tonight. I’m using some Icelandic wool thought for the project because that is what I had in my stash and I needed to do something with it. We will see how that turns out. I’m going to try to use as much the yarns offered by knit picks as possible because they are so much cheaper than most other yarns but seem to be the same quality. I can’t wait to knit the big rabbit and the hippo and the ducks but I have promised myself that I will do them all in order so that I don’t leave all the ones that I don’t really feel like doing till the last and then never finish the whole book.
On another note I got my first seeds in the mail today and i was so pleasantly surprised. I bought the

Southern Small Package from Baker Creek heirloom seeds and I had no idea what I would end up with but the seeds I got were great. I don’t have them right here with me so I don’t remember what they were exactly but I was happy and I will list them here later. But I plan on doing a lot of picture taking this summer of my garden and it’s progress. I can’t wait to get my beds up and get cultivating. I’m only doing raised beds this summer and I have to wait for my mom and dad to come over, they are at my brother’s house, to put up my fence and then I can make room for my raised beds and trellises. This year’s crop will be better than the last since I will have better tools at my finger tips.

Well it’s 9pm and I need to get to bed before I fall over.
